celebrating our apprentices

In honour of National Apprenticeship Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate and congratulate all our apprentices, past and present. At Progress Careers, we are committed to investing in our people, ensuring they receive the best training, support, and opportunities to grow within the career development sector. As a company dedicated to helping young people unlock their potential, we believe in leading by example—providing our own team with opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive in their careers.

Through Apprenticeships, we are proud to support the next generation of Career Advisers, offering hands-on experience and expert mentoring as they gain professional qualifications. Many of our apprentices have gone on to secure permanent roles with us, making a lasting impact on the futures of young people across the country.

Hear from our apprentices:

Alison Pass, Level 6 Career Development Practitioner Apprentice:

“I’m an older apprentice and I didn’t think a company would take me on to try something new. I had worked as a sixth form learning manager for several years and really enjoyed working with students on their progression routes, so I spoke with the careers advisers in school to find out more about the routes into the job, who advised me to talk to Paula Thompson. I found out that I needed a level 6 career development practitioner diploma, and I was lucky enough that Progress Careers were supporting apprentices to achieve this and were taking on in my area at that time.

I can honestly say, I haven’t looked back. I have completed the diploma, and I have just gone through gateway. I’m due to have my professional discussion next week and complete my 15-week project by April 2025. It’s been hard at times, but the Progress Careers team are so supportive, there is always someone available to help with anything I’m struggling with.  I would advocate to anyone wanting to make a change into the career development sector, to consider Progress Careers.”

Amy Green, Level 6 Career Development Practitioner Apprentice:

“I am completing the level 6 apprenticeship in careers development. I absolutely love my apprenticeship and feel it is going really well, I feel so supported by my colleagues and my tutor.

I would recommend an apprenticeship to everybody; I feel it is a great way to learn and get hands on experience of the role, at the same time! Having completed apprenticeships before, this time is completely different, and I LOVE IT!”

At Progress Careers, we believe in developing talent and creating opportunities for individuals at every stage of their career. To all our apprentices—thank you for your dedication and hard work. You are shaping the future of career guidance, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
